IPL 2019 | Shaun Pollock names Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed among five budding Indian pacers
Shaun Pollock has handpicked five emerging Indian fast bowlers, who have impressed the South African all-rounder with their pace and control. There are many Indian domestic talents that have been unearthed during the course of the IPL, which has also been a trademark of this tournament.
In cricket, there are very few things as mesmerising as watching a fast bowler put in the hard yards. Pollock is one of the finest to have embraced the game and since his retirement, he has been commenting on the gentlemen’s game.
In a video posted by Cricbuzz, Pollock has picked five emerging fast bowlers from the IPL. Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini and Deepak Chahar have earned Pollock’s trust with their skill set and ability to make the ball talk.
Siraj has played 9 games for RCB this season, picking seven wickets while Ahmed missed the first leg for SRH due to injury but his return has been impactful, bagging seven wickets in four games.
KKR have shown immense faith in Krishna’s abilities and trusted him with big jobs very often. His numbers may not be impressive, picking three wickets in 10 games, but looks promising. Saini has not only earned Pollock’s faith but also of Indian selectors as he has been named among the Indian standbys for the 2019 World Cup.
Chahar has been one of the talking points this season for his ability to move the new ball and chip wickets. He has been outstanding this season, where he picked 15 wickets in 12 games for CSK.
