After a long internal battle, the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) has been granted full member status in the BCCI by Committee of Administrator (CoA). The state association has also been asked to appoint an electoral officer and conduct BCCI mandated elections by September 14.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has granted Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) full BCCI membership. The decision by Vinod Rai & Co. brought an end to a longstanding dispute over which body from the state would be part of the Indian governing body in the coming years.

"Cricket Association of Uttarakhand has just been inducted as member association and as a full member and accordingly COA will be communicating amendments required in their constitution," a CoA statement said.

The CAU state body has also been told to appoint an electoral officer and conduct elections in accordance with the approved constitution rules as mentioned by CoA by September 14. It was a four-way fight in Uttarakhand, with Uttarakhand Cricket Association (UKCA), United Cricket Association (UTCA), Uttaranchal Cricket Association (UCA) and CAU vying for BCCI certification. However, following a visit from the BCCI's Affiliation Committee comprising Anshuman Gaekwad and Saba Karim, CAU was granted full membership.
