Mizoram Cricket Team have roped in the Karanataka players K.B. Pawan and Abrar Kazi as the guest professional players for the upcoming BCCI domestic season. Earlier, last year, the duo had moved in from Karnataka to Nagaland in the 2018-19 season and now, they will reunite at Mizoram.

As the Duleep Trophy is already in full flow, state teams have started assembling their squads for the domestic season, with the North-East teams being the prime shot callers. In the latest investment, Mizoram has roped in K.B. Pawan and Abrar Kazi as guest players for the upcoming BCCI domestic season, as reported by Sportstar.

While all-rounder Kazi was the leading run-scorer for Nagaland in the last year's Ranji Trophy with 814 runs, wicketkeeper-batsman Pawan topped the list in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 432 runs. Pawan and Kazi will reunite with former Karnataka coach P.V. Shashikanth who took up the coaching role in Mizoram last year.

“I am looking to play good cricket and that’s all. I will also have the company of Kazi and Shashikanth sir. So it is kind of good to have known people around,” Pawan told Sportstar on Monday.

Mizoram had released Taruwar Kohli, Akhil Rajput and Sinan Khadir from their pool of professional players but Kohli, who emerged as the top-scorer (826) last year, might get a recall.
