Pakistan recall Nida Dar, Anam Amin to women’s squad for England series
All-rounder Nida Dar and left-arm orthodox Anam Amin have been recalled to the Pakistan Women’s ODI squad for the three ICC Championship matches against England in Kuala Lumpur next month. Bismah Maroof will continue to captain the side for the ODIs and the three T20Is that follow.
While Nida — returns after a stint with Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League — and Anam have found their way back into the national setup, Iram Javed, Kainat Imtiaz, and Sadia Iqbal were left out of the squad. Sana Mir, who has taken a break from international cricket, is also absent from the squad.
Meanwhile, there was good news for first-time call-ups right-handed batswoman Kaynat Hafeez and right-arm off-spinner Rameen Shamim for the three-match series, which is a part of the championship's seventh-round fixture. Pakistan, who are currently in fifth place, has the opportunity to move into the top four, which would mean a direct qualification to the ICC Women's World Cup New Zealand in 2021.
For the T20I series that follows, 15-year-old leg-break bowler Aroob Shah has received a maiden call-up as a reward for her impressive ODI debut against Bangladesh. Fatima Sana and Rameen, who missed the Bangladesh series as they were engaged in the ACC Emerging Women's Teams Cup, have been recalled. The team is set to depart for Malaysia from Karachi on November 30.
