The reason Cricket Australia has been able to market its domestic tournament well is because of the quality of cricket on offer as well as the entertainment value of it. In a rather hilarious moment, Xavier Bartlett ran Hilton Cartwright out as the latter lost his footing mid-way of the ground.

Unlike the Indian domestic cricket, Marsh Cup, more often than not, has been a regular place for the senior players to turn up for. During the 16th match of the ongoing Marsh Cup between Queensland and Western Australia at the Carrara Oval, Queensland pacer Xavier Bartlett dismissed Western Australia batsman Hilton Cartwright but the manner in which he did it added to the tournament’s glamour appeal.

On the penultimate delivery of the 46th over, Cartwright missed the slog against Bartlett’s good length delivery. He was unsure about where the ball was but after seeing Marcus Stonis running for a single, he decided to run a leg bye.

However, Stoinis realised after a while that the ball was near Cartwright’s legs, and suddenly stopping running. Incidentally, Cartwright also lost his footing, and Bartlett had a brilliant one in front of him to dismiss.

He ran towards the striker’s stumps and even though he dislodged the bails by mistake as his leg came in contact with the stumps, he instantly picked up the ball and uprooted the stumps to ensure that Western Australia lost their man.
