WATCH | Shaheen Afridi goes berserk bowling out four batsmen in four balls
Shaheen Afridi, who is playing for the Hamshire Cricket team in Vitality Blast, went absolutely berserk, picking up four wickets in four balls, sealing the victory for his team. His 4 consecutive wickets came on the last four balls of his spell, taking his bowling figures to 6 wickets for 19 runs.
Pakistani young pacer Shaheen Afridi was part of the Pakistan side that toured England recently. He was pecked to perform well but had a sub-par performance on the whole tour. After that, he decided to stay back in England and work on his bowling, joining the Hamshire country club for the Vitality T20 Blast tournament.
In the match against Middlesex, Afridi looked in top rhythm as he bowled out four batsmen in 4 consecutive balls. He already had taken 2 wickets and raised his wickets column to 6 in the last four balls of his spell by bowling deadly yorkers, helping in bowling out the opposition on 121, who were chasing a target of 142. This performance will certainly boost his confidence that has been low after a dismal show in the previous series. The four batsmen who were dismissed included Luke Hollman, captain Steven Finn, Thilan Walallawita, and Tim Murtagh.
This magical performance also reminds of the beautiful display that Mohammad Amir did against Australia in the T20 World Cup of 2014. In that match, going into the final over, Australia were 191/5 and on course to cross 200, but Amir took five wickets in the over and not a single run was scored, with Amir taking three of the wickets to fall. The other two dismissals were run-outs.
