‌The best way to reply back the opposition is to turn them down with your actions. Australian fast bowling sensation Mitchell Starc just did a similar in the second Test against India as he replied to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s sledge from the opening Test with a new ball wicket to trap him plumb in front.

Going by the norm of batting first in the pink ball Tests at the Adelaide Oval, Rohit Sharma decided to test their batting unit against the lethal Aussie pacers. The same opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul geared up to face the Mitchell Starc with the new ball. To everyone’s surprise, the left-arm pacer got struck with the pink ball on the first ball of the Test itself, leaving Jaiswal dejected.

Starc steamed in from over the wicket with the new ball as he sprayed a fuller one at the leg stump line, that swung back into the southpaw. Jaiswal was a tad late to react and failed to negate the swing, getting beaten on the inside edge to incur a thud at the front pad. The onfield umpire acknowledged the Aussie cries by raising his finger and Jaiswal decided against reviewing thinking it plumb in front. Eventually, the Mumbai-based batter left the field dejected while Starc was pumped up, surrounded by the Aussie unit, having a taste of revenge after Jaiswal sledged him by saying “You are bowling too slow” in the previous Test. The Twitterverse was quick to pounce on this moment and buzzed around social media.
