Pakistan is often at the top when it comes to fielding blunders, with other teams occasionally following suit. A similar situation occurred in the Asia Cup final between India and Bangladesh where Bangladesh's fielders missed a crucial run-out opportunity, leading to a significant fielding mishap.

‌India's pacer attack made an early impact after winning the toss, dismissing Bangladesh's openers within the first 10 overs. However, Bangladesh found a solid foundation thanks to Mohammad Shihab James, Mohammad Rizan Hossain, and Farid Hasan, who guided their team to a total of 198 in 50 overs. In response, India lost Ayush Mhatre early in the second over, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi followed soon after, departing for just nine off seven balls in the fifth over. Andre Siddhart showed some promise with a quickfire 20, but his innings also came to an end prematurely.

As Mohammed Amaan and Karthikeya KP took charge, an amusing incident unfolded. On the last ball of the 13th over, Iqbal Hossain Emmon bowled a fuller delivery to Amaan who punched it towards the cover region. As soon as Amaan made contact, he called for a single, with Karthikeya sprinting for the run. However, he suddenly aborted the call and sent Karthikeya back. The cover fielder quickly chased the ball and threw it to the wicketkeeper, but the keeper missed the catch and failed to gather it. The ball ricocheted past him and reached the slip fielder, who then threw it towards the non-striker's end. Karthikeya, who was miles away from the crease, had no chance, and in a bizarre turn of events, the ball sailed past the stumps and rolled toward the boundary. Meanwhile, Karthikeya and Amaan capitalized on the confusion, running three runs while the fielder rushed to retrieve the ball and threw it towards the keeper. Twitter was quick to draw comparisons between Bangladesh's fielding blunders and Pakistan's infamous fielding disasters,
