The evolution of short-format cricket is directly proportional to the increased entertainment in the sport. Scotland’s George Munsey did not leave a stone unturned in his shot-making against Australia as a charismatic pick-up six resembled Rashid Khan’s trademark strokes in Edinburgh.

Winning the toss and choosing to field first worked well for the Australian side touring to Scotland for the first time for a bilateral series. Xavier Bartlett gave a good start with the ball, albeit the 56 runs piled up within the powerplay. However, it was Munsey who stole the spotlight with back-to-back sixes against Riley Meredith in this case, one of which took the crowd by storm.

The fourth ball of the fifth over saw Riley Meredith bend his back to hit the deck around the off stump. Munsey, stationed there whipped it across the line, right of the nucleus of the bat to help the ball soar over the deep mid-wicket ropes for a six. The southpaw’s whiplash effect in the stroke resembled Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan’s trademark strokes, leaving the Twitterverse in awe.
