The world has become competitive in various spectrums of life. The same is relevant in the field of cricket as three Mumbai Indians fielders exemplified the intensity of the ongoing Women’s Premier League by racing against time to protect the ball from reaching the boundary cushions.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Delhi Capitals got early breakthroughs as Shikha Pandey removed the openers, Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia in her opening spell to wrap up a 41-run powerplay. However, Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbridled 59-ball 80 steered them to 164 runs in the first innings. Eyeing to chase it down, Shafali Verma offered a blistering start with the second over of the game turning out expensive off Saika Ishaque. However, the focus shifted from cricket to the Olympics for mere seconds when three MI fielders competed in a failed chase.

After conceding a six off the second ball of his opening over, Ishaque leaked a hattrick of fours against a ruthless Shafali in the second over. Right after, Natalie Sciver-Brunt tried to console her nerves before the last ball of the over, only to see another boundary being leaked through the off side. Ishaque sprayed the last ball of the over outside the stumps on a fuller area that the right-hander batter drove through the cover region. Sanjeevan Sajana and a couple of more fielders chased the ball from the inner circle only to see white rock win the race. The Twitterverse was left abuzz drawing labels from three Olympics competiting in a sprint race.
