Injury Concern Strikes Again as Hardik Pandya Misses Afghanistan Series.

The Indian team has now faced yet another setback in the ODI series against Afghanistan. And once again, it is the injury issues. Virat Kohli was earlier sidelined from the series as he suffered with a hamstring injury during the IPL finals. Players such as Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma were also in question for their places, due to injury.

Both of them spent some time at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for the upcoming ODI series. Yesterday, both players had passed the fitness tests, and fans thought that they would be able to watch them play for the Indian team. But their happiness and the Indian team has suffered yet another setback.

Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan, even after passing the fitness test. In the test, it was also known whether Pandya can Bowl the entire quota of 10 overs or not. While he bowled 10 overs in the practice, he suffered with a quadriceps injury, which will now take approximately 3 weeks to recover.

Our Take

The Indian team is expected to announce a replacement soon for Hardik Pandya. But it is not just one but two major setbacks for the team, as they would be missing out on a batter and bowler both. Hardik Pandya's experience has been vital for the team, due to which his injury at this time also comes as a setback. Without Kohli and Hardik, it will be a big responsibility for Rohit Sharma, being the most experienced player in the team.
