Delhi Dynamos manager Josep Gombau has stated that his players need to be better as far as finishing is concerned so as to overcome ATK who have lost both their matches this season. Underfire Steve Coppell has stressed on hard work and commitment to bring an end to the two-match losing streak.

After a 10-day international break, the ISL will resume with ATK visiting Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi and both the teams will try to revive their fortunes. While the hosts will take on ATK on the back of a 1-1 draw with FC Pune City, ATK will hope to turn things around quickly after a disappointing start to the campaign. Josep Gombau's boys troubled the Pune defence down the flanks with clever movement but lacked the finishing touches - an area in which the Spaniard wants the improvement.

“We are ready and we worked hard to prepare for the game. We are excited to play tomorrow, and I think it’s a big game. ATK has a very good squad and I think, it’ll be a very good game and hopefully, we can win,” Gombau said in the pre-match press conference.

“It’s true that in the last game we had many chances and we missed those. This is something that we need to improve on if we want to win games. We are working hard in this aspect. We are working on finishing. There are one or more subjects in the game that we need to control if we want to be successful. The positive that I can see from this is that, if you create chances it’s a good thing because it’s difficult in football to create chances and we did it the other day. We need to keep creating chances, while also being accurate in finishing.”

Ahead of the tournament, ATK was termed as one of the favourites to lift the title. However, the Kolkata-based outfit has failed to live up to the expectations by losing two out of the two matches. After failing to register a goal so far, the side are in dire need of a positive result and the inclusion of Nigerian forward Kalu Uche, who scored six goals in his last four matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi last year, can help them big-time. While Coppell stated that the team is looking forward to winning the game, he admitted that the red card to Sena Ralte in the 32nd minute of the game against North East United FC proved costly.

“First and foremost, we are just looking forward to the game, obviously after our last defeat. We didn’t give ourselves much of a chance of a victory in our last game, obviously because we had a player sent off after 30 minutes. As I always say, it’s not a good idea to play football 10 vs 11, if you want to win football games. This is a chance to get ourselves on the right foot and we are looking forward to the challenge,” Coppell said.
