Spanish second division side Cadiz CF has conducted trials for young footballers in Mumbai for the second time to give Indian students an opportunity to win a scholarship and pursue their football training in Spain. At the end of the process, three players were shortlisted by the Spanish club.

The Spanish club held the trials at the Cooperage Stadium on September 29 which was attended by over 250 students from the city to grab a chance for the promising opportunity.  Harshika Jain, Veer Gondor, and Arnav Gorantala were selected and will travel to Spain for the training.

Even last year, a few selected students were taken to Spain and trained under Spanish football coaches. Enrique Perez, the marketing director of Cadiz CF admitted that they have seen some promising talents in India who can go on to become professional footballers in the future.

"We have seen some great potential in Indian kids last year and this year's programme will allow students to truly imbibe the spirit of the game and also understand an international level of professionalism that accompanies being a professional footballer. We believe that initiative will motivate many Indian youngsters to pursue their footballing dreams and it will also provide exposure to the selected students in the Spanish way of football,” said Perez as reported by Outlookindia.com.

Cadiz CF plays in the Secunda Division and is the now at the top position in the league table of the ongoing season.
