East Bengal club complained that their former investors Quess Corp promised big dreams, but in the end, they failed to deliver. The Corporate giants parted ways with the I-League club FC on May 31, thus ending a partnership that lasted for a couple of seasons without any fruitful results.

Quess Corp. Ltd joined hands with East Bengal a couple of years ago in anticipation of winning their maiden I-League and with the hopes of making a breakthrough into the Indian Super League (ISL) in the near future. Even though the new entity made huge investments in the transfer market, the trophy eluded them. The Internal feud between the management and the investors was soon the talk of the town and subsequently and the fallout between the two parties was evident.

It was on 31st May 2020, that the club bid adieu to its investors ahead of the new season. As per the Kolkata giants, Quess came in with a lot of promise but failed to replicate the same. The club accused the corporate entity of interfering into club matters rather than building commercial values for the club.

“We were given dreams about big plans but Quess never delivered. Rather they started interfering in day to day running of the club operations instead of putting their energies on building commercial values for the club”, said an East Bengal official, during an interview with The Telegraph.

Meanwhile, the Bangaluru-based company will hand over the rights of the football team to East Bengal as soon as possible in a hassle-free way. Both parties are working together to see off the legal matters without dragging the matter.

“We have no intention to drag it. The rights of the football team would be transferred to East Bengal as early as possible. The two parties are working on it and we are confident there will not be any problem. We will ensure that Quess has no liability on that front,” added the official.
