Manchester United have contacted Matheus Cunha agent over a potential £62.5m summer move. The Wolves striker, who signed a new deal until 2029, scored 29 goals in two seasons. Despite interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, United may lead the race as Arsenal focus on other targets. Cunha is keen to compete for major titles.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester United have entered the race to sign Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, challenging Arsenal and Chelsea for the £62.5 million-rated Brazilian. Cunha, 25, signed a contract extension with Wolves in January 2025, keeping him at the club until 2029, but it included a release clause that could now facilitate his exit. Despite the new deal, the forward has expressed his desire to take the "next step" in his career, aiming to compete for major titles.
Cunha has been in fine form since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2023, scoring 29 goals across two seasons for a Wolves side battling relegation. Manchester United, under new boss Ruben Amorim, are looking to bolster their attack and have already made contact with Cunha’s agent. Arsenal, however, may shift focus to Nico Williams and a striker, potentially giving United an advantage.
Cunha’s agent is expected to travel to England for further talks. Meanwhile, ex-Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere believes Andrea Berta—now at Arsenal and formerly at Atletico—could help bring Cunha to the Emirates. With multiple Premier League giants interested, Cunha’s future is one of the most-watched storylines ahead of the summer window.
