Youngster Kuldeep Yadav has been called up to the Indian Test team as a replacement for Amit Mishra, who has been ruled out of the match due to a knee injury. The 22-year-old Yadav will now be a part of the squad that takes on Bangladesh for the first time in India in a Test match.

Mishra was excellent in the last T20 against England but suffered a knee injury that will reduce him to a spectator's role against Bangladesh. His replacement, Kuldeep Yadav has already claimed three wickets for the India A side against Bangladesh in the warm-up game in Hyderabad.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee have named Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian squad as the replacement for Amit Mishra, who is injured, for the one-off Paytm Test match against Bangladesh to be played from Feb 9th at Hyderabad," the BCCI press release read.

"Mishra has been ruled out of the match after he sustained a knee injury while fielding in the Bengaluru T20I match against England. He has been advised rest and will undergo further medical examination."

The 22-year-old is a bowling all-rounder and has claimed 81 wickets, at an average of 33.11, in the 22 first-class matches that he has played so far. Along with his impressive bowling numbers, Yadav have 723 runs at an average of 28.92 against his name as well. He also put up a brilliant bowling display in the warm-up ODI game against England where he finished with figures of 5/60 in his allotted 10 overs.
