Cricket Australia has announced a 13-man squad for the Ashes that is scheduled to begin in Australia on November 27. The biggest surprise was the inclusion of Tim Paine, following a seven-year absence from Test cricket, and the selection Cameron Bancroft as an opener in the squad.

Another name which has created a buzz is Bancroft who selected for the first two matches of the series. The 24-year-old is set open the batting with David Warner and become Australia’s 451st Test player. He scored 407 runs in his last two matches for Western Australia in Sheffield Shield.

"Cameron has been a player of interest to us for some time now, having been unlucky to miss out on the Test tour to Bangladesh that was canceled in 2015. He is a very talented and tough cricketer who shows a good temperament for Test cricket. He has thoroughly earned and deserves his call-up following some outstanding performances in the early rounds of the JLT Sheffield Shield competition this season," National Selector Trevor Hohns said on Bancroft inclusion as quoted by Cricket.com.au.
