Pakistan’s seven feet one-inch tall fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has bowled the most economical spell in T20 history in a Caribbean Premier League match on Saturday. Speaking of which, Irfan has said that he would have been happier if his team Barbados Tridents would have won the crucial match.

The Pakistani left-armer, playing for Barbados Tridents against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League, bowled three successive maiden overs before conceding a run from his final ball. He also took the wickets of the usually big-hitting West Indies internationals Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis. The 36-year-old ended with figures of four overs, three maidens, with two wickets for one run.

Irfan was declared the man-of-the-match for his extra-ordinary performance in spite of his team losing the match as the Patriots chased down the target of 148 with seven balls to spare.

Speaking about his performance in the post-match presentation, Irfan said he would have been happier if the Tridents would have won the match. He further felt satisfied after such a performance on a lively wicket.

“I’m really happy. I would have been happier if the team won, but I am happy that I bowled one of the best spells in T20 cricket. I liked bowling on the lively wicket, and I get that extra bounce because of my height, so yes, a satisfying performance,” Irfan said.
