Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Jonny Bairstow will leave for England World Cup preparations on April 23 after the high-voltage battle against Chennai Super Kings. The maverick opener will now render his services for two games against KKR first and then CSK, which will be his last this season.

Bairstow has been in manic form for Sunrisers Hyderabad at the top, scoring brisk runs consistently. Alongside David Warner, Bairstow has formed a formidable pair and have been SRH’s primary weapon this season. However, the elegant right-handed batsman won’t be available after April 23 as he has confirmed his departure to be a part of the England World Cup camp.

Bairstow is all set to leave India after SRH’s clash against Chennai Super Kings on April 23. That leaves Bairstow for two more games for SRH with the first one being against KKR on Sunday.

“We get back after the Chennai game on April 23. Then we’ve got the World Cup camp. We then play Pakistan in the five-ODI series and then we’ve got two warm-up matches in which we play Afghanistan and Australia. And then we go into the World Cup. It’s a lot of cricket leading into the World Cup,” Bairstow told reporters ahead of the KKR match, reported IANS.

Bairstow is the second-highest run-scorer for SRH this season, scoring 365 runs at a staggering average of 52.14 with a century. At present, he is fifth in Orange Cap list, which speaks about the kind of impact he has had with the bat.

“So far, it has gone pretty well to be in the top 5 batsmen. It’s been very pleasing to score runs and contribute to the team,” Bairstow said while speaking about his debut IPL performance for the Hyderabad-based franchise.
