Tammy Abraham targets Chelsea breakout under new manager Frank Lampard

With a transfer ban looming large over them, Chelsea have to use their youth stars very well and Tammy Abraham believes that this is his chance. The 21-year-old has spent several successful loan spells over the last few years and is looking to make his Chelsea breakthrough under Frank Lampard

Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham believes that this is chance to break through at Stamford Bridge with the Blues banned from signing any new players. That does pose a problem for manager Frank Lampard but with Chelsea’s youth academy full stocked, the Blues’ legend does have a chance to see if the youth products are good enough to play for Chelsea.

It’s a chance that Tammy Abraham wants to take, especially after the season he had for Aston Villa on loan last season. The 21-year-old netted 26 goals in the Championship, helping Villa win promotion back to the Premier League via the play-off finals.

"I've been here since the age of six and there's been no better opportunity to graft and work hard for a starting spot and a place in the team for a massive club such as Chelsea," he revealed in an interview with Sky Sports. "With the new manager in charge, all things look possible, so it gives the young lads and a lot of the players the chance to believe.

You can already see in pre-season and even in training, he comes to speak to us and give us instructions on what to do, what to improve on, what he likes,” he further added. “It's always good to have a manager who speaks to players, not just the senior players but the younger players as well. It's a massive opportunity for us.”
