Michael Vaughan humorously "accuses" Indian spinners of ball-tampering

Michael Vaughan praised the Indian spinners' brilliant performance on the 2nd day of the Vizag Test after they restricted England to 103/5. Vaughan compared the situation to the ongoing investigation on Faf du Plessis, who has been accused of ball-tampering by using a lolly to provide extra shine.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Jayant Yadav were in full flow on day two of the Vizag test as they picked up a combined three wickets in no time putting India in a commanding position in the Test match. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis has been charged by the ICC for alleged ball-tampering as "TV footage appeared to show du Plessis applying saliva and residue from a mint or sweet, an artificial substance, to the ball in an attempt to change its condition." The South African captain allegedly had a lolly in mouth that was used to provide ball extra shine on the ball.

When India were scoring freely in the first innings of the match, Michael Vaughan tweeted, "I tell you what England will have to suck a lot of mints to get out of the this hole."

Later on during the day, when Ashwin and co. started dominating the Englishmen, Vaughan "accused" the Indian spinners of using 'Humbugs' (a British candy) to generate extra spin on the ball.

He tweeted, "Quite Clearly India must have been putting plenty of Humbugs on the ball today to make it Spin so much."

India are now in complete control of the game as they have taken a 200-run lead into the second innings, and England will need something stronger than a "Humbug" to rescue this Test.
