It could happen that in the upcoming Indian Premier League there will be no matches in Jaipur because of the delay over their re-affiliation with BCCI. Rajasthan Cricket Association's wait for revoking the ban from BCCI could get longer by almost a month after a confusion over the date of hearing.

Rajasthan Royals is ready to make their comeback in the cash-rich league after the franchise was suspended from the IPL for two seasons by the Supreme Court following the 2013 spot-fixing scandal. But things still don't seem to be going in the right way for the Rajasthan based team.

At the last hearing on the dispute between the BCCI and the RCA, Justice Manish Bhandari had said he would look into the case after the Indian cricket board's Special General Meeting, which was scheduled on December 11. Bhandari had asked the board to submit their conditions for revoking the ban on RCA at the hearing.

But because of some miscommunication, instead of December 12, the date was put as January 12 on the official register. Justice Bhandari went for a long vacation on December 13 and there wasn’t enough time to reschedule the hearing date before his departure which left the RCA in a very odd situation.

Rajasthan Cricket Association has yet to receive any communication from the BCCI on the conditional revoking of the ban. But the board was expected to place the SGM decision at the High Court before sending it to the RCA. But because of the date confusion, all these matters will proceed after January 12.

By that time, the venues for IPL matches are likely to be decided and with this kind of delay, Jaipur might miss the chance to host the IPL matches and might be forced to shift their base to some other city.

After the December 11 SGM, RCA president CP Joshi had requested BCCI to allot Royals' home matches to Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, but are yet to receive a reply on the same from the board. The revocation of the ban is now just a formality but it seem that BCCI wants to wait for all legalities to be sorted out before it involves the Rajasthan body in its affairs.
