IPL 2018 | Auction scheduled for January 27, 28 in Bengaluru
The Indian Premier League mega auction has been scheduled for January 27 and 28 in Bengaluru. Ahead of the 11th edition of the IPL, with teams only getting the option to retain three players, plus two Right to Match cards, the budget for each team had been increased from Rs 66 crore to Rs 80 crore.
The next season of the IPL will be a grand one with a mega auction ahead of the tournament and fans may get to see some big players signing up for different teams. The date is out for the auction which is scheduled to be held in the last week of January which was confirmed by a senior BCCI official.

The dates for the two-day auction were decided in the IPL Governing Council meeting which was held on December 6 in New Delhi. In the meeting, the BCCI also informed the franchises officials about the retention process as for the 11th edition of the cash-rich league they can retain a maximum of five players from their existing squad with the help of the pre-auction retention and Right To Match cards.
As per the report of ESPNCricinfo, teams have to submit their retention lists by January 4 and the Indian cricket board will make the full list of players to be auctioned on January 18.
For the upcoming season, franchises will begin their auction process with an increased budget of Rs 80 crore instead of the previous Rs 66 crore to build a 25-member squad.
