The Pakistan corruption scandal has taken a new turn as Briton's National Crime Agency have arrested a British citizen who is allegedly connected to the spot-fixing scandal. The PCB had previously suspended Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif pending an investigation that has rocked Pakistan cricket.

"Officers from the National Crime Agency arrested a British man in his thirties this morning in the Sheffield area as part of its investigation into the spot-fixing of cricket matches," read the NCA statement.

"He was bailed pending further inquiries."

Working with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and International Cricket Council, the NCA had arrested two men in the early parts of February as part of the ongoing investigation.

The PCB took a bold step in suspending batsmen Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif and sending them back from Dubai, where the Pakistan Super League is being held. Former Test opener Nasir Jamshed was the next player to face suspension in yet another scandal that has hit Pakistan cricket.

The PCB have claimed that they are investigating an international betting syndicate that is attempting to fix matches in the PSL.
