WATCH | Kumar Sangakkara’s six destroys a fan’s phone
39-year-old Kumar Sangakkara is still entertaining fans with his batting abilities as he recently scored 70 runs off 42 deliveries for Surrey against Middlesex in the NatWest T20 Blast. During his innings, the southpaw produced three maximums, one of which even destroyed a fan's phone in the stands.
In the NatWest T20 Blast, Middlesex played Surrey at Lord's and the former won the match by 1 wicket. Surrey batted first and posted 158 runs on the board, thanks to Sangakkara's blinder of a knock. During Surrey's innings, the Sri Lankan legend was on the strike and was facing Steve Finn.
On being dealt a short-pitched delivery, the left-hander responded by smashing the ball that went over the cover region and decimated a fan's phone in the stands who was attempting to catch it. Though the fan was surprised by the incident, he couldn’t do much about it as he responded with a smile and showed off his broken phone to the cameras. Fortunately, no further damage was done.
