Lahore to host West Indies for three T20Is in March 2018

The international cricket came back to Pakistan after the series against World XI and a one-off match against Sri Lanka and now, the development goes ahead with the next series against West Indies in March 2018. The series will comprise three T20 matches on March 29, 31, and April 1 and all the matches will be played in Lahore. Earlier, the tour was supposed to happen in November this year but due to unforeseen circumstances, the tour rescheduled to next year.

"Cricket West Indies (CWI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have signed an agreement to play a series of T20Is, each year for the next five years in Pakistan and in the United States, subject to availability of dates. WICB will send its full-strength national team in 2018 and will play three T20Is March 29, 31 and April 1.

Since 2009, when militants attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore, international teams have been hesitant to tour the country. It was in 2015, Pakistan hosted Zimbabwe for a historic limited-overs series, but other Test-playing nations were reluctant to play a cricket series in the country, which forced Pakistan to play their home games in the United Arab Emirates in the last few years. After the support of International Cricket Council, PCB have successfully resumed the game in the country by organizing two international events in the last couple of months which saw World XI and Sri Lanka touring Lahore for the T20I games. During both occasions, PCB arranged a presidential level of security in and around the stadium which gave assurance to fans all around the world.
