Andrew Tye admits to being shocked by huge IPL deal
Andrew Tye has stated that he was shocked after being purchased by the Kings XI Punjab for a hefty amount of ₹7.20 crores in the IPL auction on January 28. Tye has also added that Chris Lynn is all set to take down bowlers in the upcoming T20 tri-series against New Zealand and England.
After being scouted by Western Australia coach Justin Langer in 2013, Tye has been an absolute star for arguably the most successful T20 franchise in the world at the moment - Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL). One being asked about the IPL auction and his reaction to the same, Tye replied, "It's been a whirlwind tour from four or five years ago when I wasn't even a professional, so unbelievable and a dream come true," reported Cricbuzz.
Tye will be one of the team’s go-to bowlers during Australia's T20 tri-series, which will also involve England and New Zealand. However, the main team will not be a part of the series as the Test regulars have been rested ahead of the tour of South Africa. But that doesn’t mean the team’s firepower has deemed a bit as T20 superstar Chris Lynn is all set to play his first international game in over a year.
"He's hitting them pretty well, he's looking as good as ever. He's ready to take down some bowlers. And the team is eager to get in and get amongst it and provide some energy. We're looking and expecting to good things from this group," Tye said.

"We know we've underperformed in this format for a while now. We're definitely trying to rectify that and try to move up in those rankings and get up to the top where we should be," Tye said.
