U-19 captain Prithvi Shaw has heaped praise on coach and mentor, Rahul Dravid's positive approach that inspired the youngsters to international glory. The team captain also stated that he likes leading the side as he has his sights set on the senior team in the near future.

After a resounding victory in New Zealand, each and every member of the squad of the Indian U-19 team was handsomely rewarded by the BCCI with a Rs 20 lakh cash price. The board also gave out Rs 50 lakh cash prize to coach Rahul Dravid and a total amount of Rs 20 lakh to the support staffs as well.

Many have credited the U-19 team's success to Dravid for his disciplined approach and Shaw also heaped praise on his coach's positive outlook, which saw the team remain unbeaten throughout the tournament.

“He just talks mentally to be honest. He just gives positive vibes. Even when I am going for practice, he never talks negatively to anyone. He is positive with everyone. And that is the thing why he is so mentally strong and keeps everyone like that. I think because of those positive vibes we have done this.

"Personally what I gained is to learn how to play under pressure and when there are so many cameras around. Rahul sir has played a lot of matches in his career, he has a lot of experience,” said Shaw in a recent interview with CNN-News18.

Shaw brilliantly led a talented group of youngsters, that had Shubhman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkotti, Anukul Roy and more to the coveted trophy for the fourth time in the tournament's history. And the skipper didn't hide his intention to keep on leading.

"I really enjoy being a captain. If you see I have captained for years for my school and state as well. All those experience comes out with this captaincy," he said.
