Women's World T20 | It's better for me not to put pressure on myself, believes Smriti Mandhana
Smriti Mandhana has stated that she doesn’t like to put pressure on herself and just wants to enjoy the game of cricket during the ongoing ICC World T20. The Indian vice-captain also mentioned that they have made detailed research for the game against Pakistan which is scheduled to be played today.
After winning their first game convincingly against New Zealand in the ICC World T20, the Indian women’s cricket team will take on Pakistan in their second game at the Providence Stadium in Guyana today. Harmanpreet Kaur starred for India in that game by becoming the first centurion in T20Is from the Indian camp. Smriti Mandhana, on the other hand, failed to impress as he got out for only two in the fourth over. Before the big game against Pakistan, she has said that she does not want to put extra pressure on herself and wants to give her 100% in each and every game.
"I want to give my 100
India doesn’t have a great record against Pakistan as far as World T20 battles are concerned as the Women in Blue were defeated by the Pakistani girls in the 2012 and 2016 editions of the T20 tournament. Speaking about their game against the arch-rivals, the left-hander said that they have done their research on all the players of the opposition side.
"We have done our research on the Pakistan team, but there's no single player, we have done research on all 15 players. So the way we played against New Zealand, we'd like to put up the same show," explained Mandhana.
