Rohit Sharma has mentioned that a brilliant performance by the team made the captain look good in the Asia Cup. He also stated that the Bangladeshi openers put India under some pressure in the first 10 overs by playing good shots and providing Bangladesh a solid start in the final game.
India lifted the Asia Cup Trophy for the seventh time in a thrilling last ball-finish as they defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets in the final at Dubai. The Indian skipper credited the team for the victory over Bangladesh. The Indian side remained unbeaten in the tournament and won all their games except the one against Afghanistan that was tied. You have to give some credit to Bangladesh. They put us under pressure in the first 10 overs. We thought if the ball got older, the spinners would do the work for us. It was important to keep it tight and we have done that well throughout the tournament.”
