How often have you seen in competitive cricket that a batsman gets out even before a ball is pitched? It is something which is certainly rare to find but exactly the thing that happened during the second semi-final of the ongoing BBL when Cameron Boyce stepped on the stumps facing Ben Dwarshuis.

Melbourne Renegades were chasing a target of 181 in the second semi-final of BBL against Sydney Sixers and they were 156/6 after 18 overs. However, Dan Christianā€™s powerful hitting in the next over took the Renegades to a comfortable position before the start of the final over of the game. Christian collected 18 runs in the penultimate overĀ and the chasing side needed just seven runs of six deliveries to make it to the final.

It was Boyce on strike to face the first delivery and Dwarshuis was handed over the ball for the crucial over. Batting on 11 off nine, Boyce wanted to go forĀ the biggieĀ to the on-side and tried going as deep as possible insideĀ his crease. However, attempting to do so, the Melbourne batsman stepped on the stumps to a ballĀ that was bowled on his pads.

Replays showed that the batsman had goneĀ so deep inside the crease anticipating a yorker that he had got hit his wicket even before the ball was pitched. This dismissal made the game more interesting from there as a tail-ender had to come on strike with just five balls to be bowled in the match.
