Two Jharkhand cricket officials suspended after being caught for demanding "cash for selection" in sting operation
Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has suspended the life membership of two members and terminated them from their respective posts after they were caught in a sting operation. These administrators were caught on camera in a sting operation agreeing to pick any player for cash.
After the DDCA, the latest sting operation that was conducted in domestic cricket was in the state of Jharkhand. Two members of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association were accused of practising the cash-for-selection scam to promote a select group of players.
In response to the charges on two district officials, Ranchi District Cricket Association (RDCA) and Latehar District Cricket Association (LDCA) secretaries, Md Wasim and Amalesh Kumar suspended the life membership of both the accused and terminated them from their posts with immediate effect.
These administrators were caught on camera in a sting operation which was conducted by a Hindi channel, agreeing to pick any player in district teams of different age groups for cash. They further claimed that even the selection into the Jharkhand side can be easily influenced by cash.
