WBBL 2019-20 | Ellyse Perry ruled out for 1-3 weeks with shoulder injury
Sydney Sixers all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been sidelined with a shoulder injury that would see her out of action for 1-3 weeks. Perry landed awkwardly on her right shoulder during the Sixers' game against the Melbourne Renegades and though she did not leave the field, she was in utter discomfort.
Ellyse Perry has been a significant member of the Sydney Sixers team as her ability to bat at the top of the order coupled with her bowling gives the Sixers the luxury to play either an extra batsman or a bowler. But she suffered a low-grade AC injury to her right shoulder in the clash against the Melbourne Renegades which will see her ruled out for about 1-3 weeks.
The injury did not force Perry off the field but was enough to keep her in utter discomfort for the rest of the innings and the Sixers ended up losing the game. She will be out for the game against the Hobart Hurricanes and will undergo further monitoring later in this week.
Perry though is hopeful that the injury is not of a very serious nature and that she will return in action for the Sixers if they qualify for the playoffs in December. With 12 points from 9 matches, the Sixers are currently well placed at third in the points table and are looking good to qualify for the playoffs.
