Twitter reacts to designated 'ball catcher' celebrating hard after holding onto ball with his net
After the social distancing and minimal touch policy came into fruition, we are seeing strange things on the cricket field nowadays and the 3TC Cricket took that to a different level. With a designated catcher with a net placed to hold the ball, we saw a moment of outrageous brilliance today.
In the second half of the 3TC match, with the Kites having their second dig with the bat, Dwaine Pretorius and David Miller tried to stitch a strong partnership in the middle. Like Aiden Markram and AB de Villiers before him, Pretorius wanted to go all guns blazing right from the outset to keep the KG’s Kites in a better position.
While he mostly succeeded in his pursuit, there was one moment in the process that took the cake. On the first delivery of the 9th over, Tabraiz Shamsi bowled a full delivery to him and Pretorius was quick to dispatch him over deep mid-wicket for a six.
While the nonchalant manner in which he hit that six was not one to miss, the story that transpired after that took the cake. The designated ball catcher outside of the boundary line had been provided a net to get hold of the ball and seeing the ball coming his way, he extended it pretty beautifully. As the ball landed inside, he was so ecstatic that he pulled off an incredible celebration that would even put Imran Tahir to shane. Such a beauty!
Wow!! Just look at this catch😍😍
