The advent of shorter formats of cricket has led to an increased aggressive intent from the batters. Kieron Pollard doesn’t shy away from taking down the bowlers as a brutal six off Haris Rauf had a commentator scared for his life in the Men’s Hundred clash between Welsh Fire and Southern Brave.

Winning the toss and electing to field first didn’t quite work well for the home side, Welsh Fire, as James Vince’s fifty helped the Southern Brave get a commendable 139-run total. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the visitors as they lost wickets in regular intervals throughout the innings. It was not all safe for the commentators either as Kieron Pollard threatened their lives in the 17th set with his brute power.

Haris Rauf was summoned in the slog overs of the game after success early in the innings, He intended to challenge Pollard with a short ball on the 84th ball of the first innings that the Caribbean star connected off the meat of the bat with a swivel pull. The ball went flying towards the deep square leg region and hurled onto the Sky Sports pod behind the boundary boards. The commentators, Kumar Sangakkara and Robert Croft, trembled at the fearsome striking as the ball thudded onto the glass screen in front of them. Pollard has always been renowned for his brute strength and the Twitterverse showered him with praise for this particular strike.
