Ravichandran Ashwin back in Chennai Super Kings fold, rejoins India Cements
In a piece of heart-warming news for the Chennai Super Kings fanbase, Ravichandran Ashwin has joined hands with India Cements for a second time. He will be in charge of the Super Kings High Performance Centre where different players of the franchise across the globe could train throughout the year.
“You have a big role to play going forward”, Srinivasan said during the event.
With a mega auction set to take center stage ahead of IPL’s 18th edition, there could be a possibility of Ashwin’s presence in the list of players, provided Rajasthan Royals release him. In that case, CSK could opt for Ashwin in the mega-auction and pave the way for his homecalling.
“That totally depends on the auction dynamics because we can’t have control over it. We have to wait and see if the opportunity presents itself. First up, he will be taking charge of our High Performance centre, and will handle the cricketing side of it including the programmes and everything. We have signed him back. He is now part of the CSK venture and will also play for the India Cements teams in the TNCA First-Division,” CSK CEO Kari Viswanathan said.
