With just two days remaining for the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the next edition of the tournament will commence on March 14. Additionally, the governing body has revealed the IPL start dates for the next three years as well.

‌The BCCI has outlined a detailed roadmap for the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next three years. The 18th edition of the IPL is set to begin on March 14, 2025, as confirmed by an ESPNcricinfo report. The IPL 2024 will conclude on May 25, while the 2025 and 2026 seasons are scheduled to run from March 15 to May 31. The 2027 edition will follow a similar timeline, running from March 14 to May 30.

The 2025 season will feature 74 matches, consistent with the format of the last three seasons. This announcement comes just days before the IPL 2025 mega auction, set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Additionally, the report confirms full player availability for the season from major cricketing nations, including Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, and others.

The IPL will follow the ICC Champions Trophy, though uncertainty looms over whether the tournament will be held entirely in Pakistan or via a hybrid model.
