The Indian B bowling attack hunted like a pack at the Chinnaswamy on Sunday to fold India A out for 198 in the fourth innings, well short of the 275-run target. KL Rahul's gritty 57 kept the side in the running for a while but wickets kept tumbling at the other end as Yash Dayal picked three.

Brief score: IND B 321 & 184 [Pant 61, Sarfaraz 46; Deep 5/65] defeat IND A 231 & 198 [Rahul 57, Deep 43; Dayal 3/50] by 76 runs

Sai Kishore could not add anything to the overnight score of 150/6 as he succumbed for a duck to Akash Deep. The Bengal pacer was rbeathing fire under the overcast sky in Bengaluru as he ravaged Washington Sundar's stumps and had Navdeep Saini nick behind for 13 to complete his fifer. Khaleel Ahmed ended the innings for 184 with the scalp of Yash Dayal after a four-boundary cameo of 16 to set India A a target of 277 to take the tournament opener.

Yash Dayal began the innings on a high for India B by dispatching Mayank Agarwal in his first over. Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill's recovery knocks helped the side recover to 52/1 when things quickly unravelled before Lunch. Dayal had Parag caught behind for 31 before Saini inflicted the same fate on skipper Shubman Gill, and the wicket of Dhruv Jurel for a golden duck was the cherry on the top as India A headed into Lunch at 76/4.

Tanush kotian nicked behind off Mukesh Kumar on the first ball upon resumption and Shivam Dube succumbed to Nitish Kumar Reddy for 14 to further leave the side reeling at 99/6, with KL Rahul forced to watch quietly at the other end. The veteran batter finally found an able parter in Kuldeep Yadav and constructed a 42-run partnership with the tailender, scoring a gritty 57 off 121 balls in the process, but a caught behind off Mukesh shortly after Tea turned out to be the team's death knell. Akash Deep delivered an entertaining counter attack with a quciker than run-a-ball 43, including three fours and four maximums, but a run-out by Musheer Khan sealed his team's 77-run defeat.
