PAK W vs ENG W | Twitter irritated as unlucky Pakistan shares points with England in Colombo
Heavy rains forced the Pakistan vs England match in the Women’s ODI World Cup to be abandoned without a result in Colombo. With the Women in Green looking set to chase down a revised target, another spell of rain put paid to their hopes of notching up their first win in the tournament.

Earlier in the day, the Women in Green had an excellent start after sending England in at the R Premadasa Stadium. Captain Fatima Sana picked up three wickets with the new ball, and along with her partner Diana Baig reduced England to 39/4. The spinners’ introduction made it worse as they slid to 78/7 before play was halted at the end of the 25th over. They gathered some momentum post the restart as they added 54 runs in the remaining six overs. Charlie Dean top-scored for them with 33 off 51 balls, while Em Arlott scored 18 as their 47-run partnership for the eighth wicket powered England to 133/9. Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Fatima ended with impressive figures of 4/27 in six overs, while left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal picked up two wickets.

Gone
If the rain doesn't allow the game to be completed, it would be a tremendous shame for Pakistan who are in a good position to beat England in a WODI for the first time. It would also reflect poorly on the match officials not putting Pakistan straight in to bat, rather than asking…

Interesting
What was it I was saying about cricket common sense and not sending England back out to bat and getting the Pakistan innings in!

Pakistan would have more than likely have won this game if they have had that common sense #CWC25#PAKvENG https://t.co/ro5OqaT3bL

Always
The British have always been a step ahead. They created India/ Pakistan in 47 leading to decades of conflict between the two nations

As a result the Pakistani team can't travel to India for major tournys. So they play their matches in SL. Where it rains. So England get one point
Bad one
BAD NEWS!!

Rain is getting heavier, and play between Pakistan and England looks highly unlikely in Colombo now. 🌧️#CricketTwitter #CWC25 pic.twitter.com/9QXClh9V8k
