IND vs PAK | Twitter reacts as India maintain no handshake policy with Pakistan after win in heated clash
'Stick to cricket' has become a widely used rhetoric with regards to the involvement of politics, an advice India seem to have taken too literally in the Asia Cup. The Men in Blue wasted no time in formalities neither cared for the game's spirit as they walked off again on Sunday without handshakes.

India cruised to victory in their Asia Cup Super Four opener against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday to remain unbeaten from four games. While the result was practically decided within the first six overs of the chase when Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill catapulted the Men in Blue to 69/0 in pursuit of 172, the limelight on the game remained till after it was over given what had transpired in the previous encounter. The latest clash turned out to be no different.
Pakistan were on the verge of quitting the tournament after India had refused to shake hands at the toss as well as after the game a week ago, with allegations from their board that match referee Andy Pycroft had violated protocol by not informing their team of the same. However, the Zimbabwean official later revealed in a meeting set between him and the Pakistani management that he himself had been notified of the change just a few minutes before the ceremony, leaving him no time to follow due process. While the dust seemed to have settled thereafter, Pakistan continued to play rogue by cancelling the pre-match press conference ahead of the India encounter, and their rivals in turn did not budge from the no handshake policy in their second round clash. Not only did Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha Ali maintain distance at the toss, the latter even avoided a handshake from the match referee to further exacerbate the issue. Later, the Indian batters walked off the ground without handshakes yet again to further their hostile approach in the politically charged tournament.
Twitterati anticipated it all.
