India T20I Squad Would Be Incomplete Without These IPL 2026 Stars
The Indian team is already dominating in the T20 format, winning the last two T20 World Cups consecutively. But the IPL 2026 has made ways for several other players who could make it to the team in the upcoming series.

The Indian team is already dominating in the T20 format, winning the last two T20 World Cups consecutively. But the IPL 2026 has made ways for several other players who could make it to the team in the upcoming series. India is already having a number of T20Is scheduled after the tournament, as more options come as a better choice for the selectors.
The T20 World Cup 2026 winners just keep on getting better and better. The Indian Premier League has already given opportunities to a number of players, to ensure that they are able to get a shot at the Indian team. And among all of these players, a few of them have done so well, as the selectors might also have an eye on them.
These players include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Rajat Patidar, and Shreyas Iyer. One of them is able to give a strong start to the team, the other manages for a strong finish. And the remaining one scores runs for the team in the middle overs with ease.
But the current Indian team also looks strong with players such as Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav. Looking at India's packed T20 schedule in June and July, it is likely that the selectors would go for these IPL breakout stars and allow them to make their run in the same.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has proven himself to be an aggressive opener in the T20 format. He has done well for the India A and Under-19 team across all formats but his dominance in the shortest remains unmatched. The type of skill set he holds is already too much for a 15 year old to make his debut for the senior cricket team.

In the IPL, he has faced bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, and many more. The way he bashed all of them has surely been impressive, not just for the Indian fans but even for the selectors. It should be noted that he showcased a similar performance in the last season when he was just 14.
But this year during the IPL, he turned 15 years old. This also makes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now eligible to be a part of the Men's senior cricket team. Since India is known for having aggressive openers such as Abhishek Sharma, having Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to open alongside him would be a run fest for the team in the powerplay itself.
Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar is leaving no stones unturned to ensure that he is noticed by the selectors. He was a part of the Indian team a few years ago but got dropped due to his inconsistent performances. Looking at his performances in the IPL right now, it is clear that he has improved his gameplay against spin to a great extent.

Even the commentators have started to call him the best spin player in the tournament. It doesn't matter at which ground he is playing, he is smashing at a strike rate above 200 in this tournament. Moreover, Rajat Patidar has also managed to become the top run scorer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and even has the highest strike rate in the tournament.
This season he has scored two half centuries for the team, and the one against Mumbai Indians came in just 17 balls. With Patidar showing his striking ability for the team in the middle and death overs, he has surely caught the attention of the fans.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer has also given some fine performances for the PBKS team in this IPL, which shows that he deserves to be in India's T20 setup again. He has been leading Punjab Kings from the front, helping the team to score runs even in the middle overs during the chase.

The way he absorbs the pressure for the team has been magnificent. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh are able to give them a strong start. Following them comes Shreyas Iyer who maintains the momentum created by them pretty well. Moreover, Iyer is already having the ICC events experience, which will be a crucial factor to help him get his spot in the T20I side.
