It was a win by the team to pay a tribute to the mother of Mukesh Choudhary, who passed away a few days before the game. When the news of her demise spread, Mukesh also went back to his hometown.

He completed the last rites to his mother and eventually joined CSK camp for the match against Mumbai Indians. Mukesh also took a wicket, as CSK went on to win the game by a massive total of 103 runs. Following this, Ruturaj Gaikwad went on to dedicate the victory to Mukesh Choudhary.
