Suryakumar Yadav's First Response After Losing His Place Goes Viral

Suryakumar Yadav is missing out on India's T20I squad across different series. The former captain didn't make it to the squad, as he has now been replaced by Shreyas Iyer as a captain. Suryakumar reacted to the same, as he wished luck to the new team for the upcoming series.

‌Suryakumar Yadav has suffered a fate similar to Rohit Sharma in the ODIs. He led the Indian team to win the T20 World Cup in a historic fashion, but still ended up being sacked from his captaincy. But things have been more challenging for SKY, as he was also removed from the Indian team, with Shreyas Iyer replacing him.
While Iyer has been named as the new captain of the team, one cannot forget the dominance of Suryakumar Yadav as a captain. He led India in just two tournaments, and the team was able to clinch titles in both of them. Losing your place in the national team is definitely not easy for any player, but Suryakumar Yadav has reacted to the same calmly.

The former Indian captain is yet to make a statement on him being dropped from the team. But he had something to say about the new squad, as he did it via Instagram stories. He posted a story for the new squad and wished them luck for the upcoming series against England, Ireland, and even the Asian Games.

Our Take

Even though Suryakumar Yadav has lost his place in the T20I team, he still remains a key asset to build the team which Shreyas Iyer will lead. India has gone on to win the Asia Cup 2025 and even the T20 World Cup 2026 under his captaincy. Being undefeated across every T20 series where he led, it will be a big responsibility for Shreyas Iyer to maintain the same momentum in his captaincy.
