Ambati Rayudu talked about the best Test captain for the Indian team. And the response for the same has shocked the cricket fans to a great extent. Rayudu responded by taking the name of Virat Kohli, as the majority of fans thought he would take the name of his former CSK captain, MS Dhoni.
Ambati Rayudu, former Indian batsman, was present in an interview where a number of questions were asked to him. While the majority of the questions remained normal, one of them has caught the attention of the fans. Rayudu was asked who he thinks is the greatest Test captain for the Indian team.
Fans expected he would say the name of MS Dhoni, as he was a part of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. But that didn't happen. Instead, Rayudu named Virat Kohli as the best Indian captain in the longest format of the game. While his response has shocked the fans, no one can disagree on the fact that Virat’s captaincy in this format remains unmatched.
Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian team won the Test Mace multiple times and even held the top spot in the ICC rankings from 2016 to 2021. Several wins such as The Lord's victory in 2021, Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2018, and never losing a home series in his tenure, were some of the greatest things he achieved as a captain.
