The Indian team has received a massive boost right ahead of the ODI series against Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya spent some time at the BCCI CoE to clear the fitness tests. And fortunately, both players have been cleared for the upcoming series.

With the one off Test being finished, all the focus is now on the ODI series between India and Afghanistan. The series will commence from 13 June and the Indian team has received a massive boost ahead of the same. Virat Kohli was ruled out of the series earlier, while Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya had fitness issues.

Before the Test match, the all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, reported to the BCCI CoE and spent almost a week there. Recently, a fitness test was taken to know about his capacity in the ODI series. And fortunately, Hardik Pandya has been cleared to participate in the ODIs against Afghanistan. Moreover, he can also bowl the entire 10 overs spell in the game.

Another massive update is on the veteran Indian opener, Rohit Sharma. The Hitman also suffered with an injury in the IPL, as he had to report to the BCCI CoE for the fitness tests. Just like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma has also cleared the fitness tests as he will now be joining the Indian team soon.

Our Take

The availability of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya gives a massive boost to the Indian team. They would be missing out on Virat Kohli for sure, but it would've been more challenging if any one of Hardik or Rohit would have joined the list. Now with the Hitman ready to play in the ODIs, he would be eager to seize this chance and make his way to the top of the ICC rankings.
