Massive Workload Incoming as Indian Team Set for 20 ODIs.

Indian cricket fans have been waiting for the BCCI to reveal the schedule for the ODI games. Since this is the only format being played by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, it surely attracts a lot of fan attention. With the main objective being the 2027 World Cup, the BCCI has decided to give a lot of ODIs to the fans in the next few months.

The updated schedule has confirmed that India will be playing a massive total of 20 ODIs in the next 10 months. While two months will be covered by the IPL, having 20 ODIs till January 2026 comes as a major boost for the Indian team and fans both. This will also provide more chances to the RoKo duo to dominate together in their favourite format.

It all starts from the ODI series against Afghanistan in June. The schedule has been the same as it was before, but the series against New Zealand has been extended to 5 ODIs. And another positive news for the fans is that the series against Zimbabwe has been added, which will be a three-match ODI series in January 2027.

Our Take

With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing just the ODI format, the initiative by the BCCI to add more ODIs for the team has been welcomed. This will also allow the Indian team to focus more on the 50-over format and get themselves ready for the ODI World Cup.

It was also reported that India will be playing a series against Ireland and Zimbabwe to support such nations. Now the ODI series against Zimbabwe has been confirmed, and with RoKo a part of the ODI setup, it will surely be a great moment for the Zimbabwe team to play with the greats.
