The Indian Premier League has a rich history, as it is also the most popular T20 league around the world. As we are midway through the 19th season, there are some unbelievable facts related to the tournament. These facts may sound fake but they are true.

‌The Indian Premier League has been the most popular tournament around the world. A tournament where the best in the world come together, form a team, and play against the 9 other teams to win the title. What started as an eight team tournament has now expanded itself to become a global leader in the T20 leagues. 
In its rich history, the IPL has seen several unbelievable things take place. Some records were created which are being held firm till date, noting the seriousness of them. 
Let's take a look at some IPL facts which may sound fake but are 100% true. 

Rohit's IPL Hat-trick 

Rohit Sharma is known as an opener these days in the IPL. But he also holds an IPL hat-trick, which unfortunately came against his current team Mumbai Indians, way back when the Hitman used to play for Deccan Chargers. 

Golden Wicket

In the IPL, there is a bowler whose strike rate is 1, and it is Adam Gilchrist. He bowled just one ball in the IPL 2013 season and took the wicket of Harbhajan Singh. 

Yuvraj Singh's Costing 

In the IPL 2015 season, Delhi Capitals decided to pay 16 crore rupees to Yuvraj Singh. But the winners of the tournament in that season were only supposed to get 15 crore worth of the prize money. 

Bowling Record

Several players have managed to win the Purple Cap in the IPL. But only Bhuvneshwar Kumar has managed to win the Purple Cap in consecutive IPL seasons. 

Three Titles

Karn Sharma is the only player to have won the IPL for three consecutive seasons. From IPL 2016 to 2018, the team that bought him was able to win the IPL title as well.
