Rajasthan Royals have started to face FIR threats amid IPL 2026. The team is having Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a teenager, playing for them at a big stage. A social activist has threatened to file an FIR on the team for this in the case of Child Labour.

Rajasthan Royals have found a key batsman in the form of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. With his availability, the team has been able to do wonders with its opening pair, as Sooryavanshi even leads the run scoring charts for them. But right now, both Rajasthan Royals and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi find themselves in the middle of a controversy, where the team is facing FIR threats.

A social activist CM Shivakumar Nayak has threatened to file an FIR on the team. And this will be due to the fact that the team is encouraging Child Labour by playing the teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in their team. Nayak even said that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi should study right now instead of playing in the IPL.

He said, “This 15-year-old boy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from Rajasthan Royals is being exploited. He is just a child, only 15 years old, and they have brought him into the IPL to play professional cricket. This is nothing but child labour. How can they make a minor boy play in such a big league like this? He should be focusing on his studies, going to school and completing his education instead of playing cricket at this tender age.”

Our Take

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's participation in the Indian Premier League doesn't enforce Child Labour in any ways. He has already been playing for India A and India Under-19 team for a while, along with various other players who are in their teenage years. If an FIR is being filed, Rajasthan Royals will surely have a number of ways to tackle it, knowing that Sooryavanshi is a growing sensation in the IPL.
