Bhuvneshwar Kumar has found his rhythm back with the ball. Holding the Purple Cap this season, he has now helped RCB to march into the finals of the tournament. Ashwin had a chat with Bhuvi, where he revealed how RCB helped him to revive his career.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are now marching into the finals of IPL 2026. While Patidar won the POTM award, Bhuvneshwar Kumar held the purple cap once again after the game ended. Rabada took 2 wickets to level with him at 26, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar has maintained an impressive economy rate.

After the match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had an interview with former Indian cricketer, Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin told him to wear the purple cap, to which he replied by saying that he will wear it after another match winning performance. Later Ashwin said, “Today we got to see the SRH version of Bhuvi again, those knuckle balls were unreal.”

This is where Bhuvneshwar Kumar revealed how RCB helped him to make a comeback. He said, “I’ve been trying to use it since last year. A few years back I didn’t have the confidence as my place was on the line. RCB’s environment made me believe in my skills again. A good environment brings out the best in you.”

Our Take

Taking a look at the post match presentation between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin, one could easily understand the bond between RCB and Bhuvi. While he helped the team to be a part of two finals, and have a lethal bowling attack, RCB also helped him by giving a good environment in the locker room, motivating him for a comeback. Bhuvneshwar Kumar would now like to give his best by helping the team win IPL 2026.
