The match between Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC will see two new managers - Jorge Costa and Cesar Ferrando making their debut in the Indian Super League in Mumbai on Tuesday. The visitors will be without star signing Tim Cahill and goalkeeper Subrata Paul for their opening match.

The 2018-19 season of the ISL has begun in full flow as the biggest teams in India battle it out for the ultimate prize - the ISL trophy. Monday night’s game ended at 2-2 as NEUFC and FC Goa both had to settle for a point in Guwahati. Tuesday’s match will see two new managers, Jorge Costa of Mumbai City FC and Cesar Ferrando of Jamshedpur FC make their debut in the ISL as the two face-off in Mumbai.

The Islanders will hope to secure a playoff spot after they finished seventh last season while the visitors would also aim for the same, as they narrowly missed the knockout phase in the last edition. Costa spoke about his team’s mentality at the pre-match press conference in Mumbai.

“I’m sure we are ready for this first game. It’s always difficult to start but what I hope is that the players play free without any pressure, make a good start and fight, play a good game with quality and fight for three points," Costa said.

“Last season was our reality and it’s not correct for me to speak about things I don’t know. I was not here. Till now, we have won seven friendly games and we are scoring goals. I can’t wait for the first game and see what we can do. I hope to be happy with the performance.”

Meanwhile, JFC saw their coach - Steve Coppell switch allegiances with rivals, ATK for the coming season. They secured the services of Cesar Ferrando who was given the task to lead the young side this year. Ferrando added that he was happy with his side’s pre-season performance and was optimistic over their chances this year.

“I think we had a good pre-season and I’m happy with my decisions, but tomorrow’s game will be most important. We have worked the maximum. I hope we can give it our all and gain three points,” Ferrando said.

The Spaniard will be without the services of star signing - Tim Cahill and veteran goalkeeper Subrata Paul as the pair have been ruled out due to suspension. The visitors will have to count on Subhasish Roy in goal while Sergio Cidoncha will most likely lead the forward line.
